The Importance Of Apologetics

Is Apologetics really necessary? – by Richard Gagnon
If you are like me, you certainly see that the manifold of biblical studies, which are worldwide made, are not always edifying. It is enough to browse on the Internet to see it. Some people can also testify of it on a personal basis, whether in their immediate environment or even local church. The reason of this problem is that some of these are not made with the right and pure motives or, still, others do not make them with the right tools.
Why, in fact, should we study God’s Word? The answer is as simple as to ask the question. We study it to understand it better. Likewise, we study it to know better our God; and to make Him known better. Our biblical study should always have a double purpose:
1. To know God and…
2. To make Him known, such as He revealed Himself through the truths of His Holy Word, the Bible.
In front of all this outfit of currents of thought which exist nowadays, the biblical discipline which can come to the rescue of many problems connected with the study of the Bible is Apologetics.
Apologetics comes from the Greek word “apologia” which means “a verbal defence”. So, the one who studies apologetics is the same who is interested in the biblical faith up to the point of being willing to take a strong defence of it when it is challenged. And God knows how much the faith is under fire nowadays!
Trinity Journal Of Apologetics And Theology is an extraordinary tool which God puts in our reach so that we can acquaint with the various points of view which are brought by several good and sholarly Christians authors throughout the world. What is particular in the Trinity Journal is that the approach is very conservative and biblical. In other words, the readers of this Journal will never read such “worldly-compromised” articles which are manifold, threatenening sound doctrine which are so rampant today. Instead of it, our readers will always be exposed, sometimes even confronted and challenged by conservative and challenging Christian articles, which are the product of good and strong biblical studies as they should be made. Trinity Journal Of Apologetics And Theology wants to be strong and edifying, not shallow in its approach. We leave that kind of “wishful thinking” to others.
If our world is so misled and far away from God; and it is indeed the case, it is then important that apologetics be a part of our biblical study. It is not sufficient to study the Bible, it is necessary to study it with a perspective which is in agreement with the biblical texts. The glory of God and the salvation of the souls of men depend on it to a certain point!
Trinity Journal Of Apologetics And Theology still invites you all to go through our various articles which were chosen here and there on the web or still written by strong and faithful biblical authors/students who like not only the Word of God, but maybe even more the God of the Word.
