I read the editorial carefully and I do agree that all of us deserve a second chance. None of us is perfect neither righteous. That's why Jesus died for us on the cross. God would never turn his back to those who come to him with a broken and humble heart to ask for forgiveness. Each of us falls short in some ways; Nevertheless, we are serving a very powerful God who can restaure and repair broken lives. The fear of the Lord does help us keep our spiritual life in order.

I'll try to leave another message - my other one didn't make it!!

I was wondering - Is it valid to have actual fear for the Lord? It seems to me that approaching the Almighty should invoke at least a little genuine fear. Or maybe a mixture of fear and awe.

I'm not sure I could stand before the Father and not fear. I'm not afraid for my safety or anything like that. Can anyone else put it better?

So, is it wrong to have genuine "fear" about the idea of coming before the Almighty God? Not terrified, but definitely NERVOUS!!

Comment on What Does the Bible Teach about Anger? by Gary Lieberman

As I have pursued the Kindom of God and concentrated on becoming the kind of person who does not allow anger to rule my life I have experienced the action of God in my life. A key passage as you stated is Colossians 3:8. The whole passage of Colossians 3:1-17 is central to becoming the person that in whatever they do they do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks through him to God the Father. v17 This is only possible through taking on the activities of setting our mind on the things above and not on the things of this earth. As we have died, and our life is hidden with Christ in God. v1-5 Death to self is another key ingredient in becoming the kind of person who is not prone to anger, but compassionated, kind, gentle, humble and able to bear with each other and forgive each other. I liked your ideas regarding where anger comes from. I have also found Rom.6:4-7 a powerful force in recognizing that as I have been united with Christ in the likeness of his resurrection and literally believe my old self has been crucified that my body of sin might be done away with, that I should no longer be a slave to sin. Continued meditation and thought on these truths have had a profound impact on my spirit and transformed my mind. Thoughts are always attached to feelings and and as the Lord is continually before me and at my right hand my heart is able to remain glad and my glory rejoice. Psalm 16
